Matthew Sorola is an accounting professor Based in Toulouse, France, specializing in public engagement, marginalized perspectives, and the socio-technical imaginaries that influence collective decision-making.

Originally from Texas, he has lived and worked across four continents, observing how societies justify public spending, prioritize development, and construct narratives around technology, risk, and the common good. His research uses tools like Q methodology and deliberative minipublics to challenge dominant rationales and amplify underrepresented voices in these debates. He is increasingly interested in examining how these dynamics play out in areas such as militarism and its societal impacts.
